Resurrection

Everything we believe comes down to this one point of faith: the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

If Jesus was not really raised from the dead, then none of the dead will ever live again.

If Jesus was not really raised from the dead, then the blessings we attribute to God really are a fool’s opiate.

If Jesus was not really raised from the dead, then his Apostles–who all died for their faith–died for nothing.

If Jesus was not really raised from the dead, then the Bible’s message is a hoax.

If Jesus was not really raised from the dead, then he was not really the Messiah, the Christ, the Savior.

If Jesus was not really raised from the dead, then those of us who believe are worthy of the world’s pity.

But…

If Jesus was raised from the dead, then the God of Scripture has kept His promises.

If Jesus was raised from the dead, then there is more to living than this up and down life.

If Jesus was raised from the dead, then the message of the Bible is true.

If Jesus was raised from the dead, then there is the promise of our future resurrection.

If Jesus was raised from the dead, then the hundreds of first century witnesses were right.

If Jesus was raised from the dead, then He really is both Lord and Christ.

If Jesus was raised from the dead, then this is good news (gospel) that we need to share with the whole wide world!

John,
Thanks for calling today!  I enjoyed the conversation and am always excited about getting to know another congregation.  As I mentioned, we have been really busy the last couple of months with interviews and visits, so I hope I didn’t sound disinterested in Jersey Village when we talked.  We feel very blessed to have had these opportunities to meet more of our Christian family around the country.

I’ve attached my resume, my reference list, and a recommendation letter.  You can find all sorts of materials at https://patrickbarber.wordpress.com.
